Proposed Livestock Ordiance

Posted on May 16, 2023 By Joe Samaniego

Below is three documents outlining the proposed changes for the Nuisance Chapter regarding livestock. The City of Tangent has had an issue of chronic nuisances not complying with taking care of livestock which has cost the City thousands of dollars in legal fees. The proposed changes would be for nuisance situations, so anyone not causing a nuisance is not impacted. The draft also includes a grandfather clause for current residents with livestock.

Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) and properties outside the Urban Growth Boundary are exempt from the proposed ordinance. June 12, 7:00 PM, the City Council will be discussing it. The public is welcome to attend and provide public comment. Public comment is limited to three minutes. Public Comments can be emailed or delivered to City Hall before 4:00 PM on June 12.
