The emerald ash borer (EAB) is a destructive insect that has killed over a hundred million ash trees (Fraxinus spp.) since it was first found in the United States in 2002. EAB was confirmed in Washington County in 2022 and will continue to spread throughout Oregon. For more information, visit the Oregon Invasive Species Council website: https://www.oregoninvasivespeciescouncil.org/eab.
Tangent has several ash trees in the city limits and is working with the Oregon Department of Forestry.
